Rotary Club of Brandon Sunset
Minutes – July 15, 2015

Present: Theodora, Pat, Sheri, Kathryn Anne, George, Lois, Dayle, Jacquie, Bill Taylor and Rotaractors: Walter, Rhoni, Moe, Elena, Mia and Jon

Guests – Kristi Ajani (Theo)

President Lois welcomed all and called the meeting to order and 6:03 pm

Theo introduced her guest – Kristi Ajani, who is planning on joining the club

A thank you was received from Jack Lumbard for his scholarship, his note stated that it has encouraged him to continue to be active in the community

Note that District Governor Ken will be attending our meeting on August 20^th.

Rotaract Update

President Moe updated our club on the past couple of Rotaract meetings

They plan to host a Volleyball tournament/BBQ event

Will take place at Stanley Park on August 9^th.

1 student has dropped out (George & Lois’s granddaughter can no longer attend)

Ray Ruth checking to see if another student needs to be sponsored

Minnedosa Supper – no money was won by our members, but all had a great time

Bill Taylor has rejoined our club!!!!!!!

Arabian Show

Note that it is August 16^th – 22^nd

We start work on August 13th.

Need to get coupons from restaurants

Motion to donate $100 to Polio Plus on behalf of the district governor

Motion made by Pat and seconded by Kathryn Anne

All in favour – motion carried

Note that all “Executive Assistants” should be sending minutes to George for the club bulletin

Fundraiser for Rotary

Garage Sale at Sheri’s on August 7^th @ 7 Buttercup bay

Bill Taylor spoke to us about the upcoming “Teacher’s for Teachers” vocational training in Ethiopia

Both Bill and and Kayvon’s Dad are going do Bahir Dar

They will be training teachers at 3 schools

Note that Bill needs a white lab coat, if anyone has an “extra tall” one laying around.
