Salvation Army Kettles
November 8, 2016
Dear Friends,
RE: CHRISTMAS KETTLE APPEAL 2016
It is now the time we start making plans for the Christmas Season and are asking for your help. There are those from your organization who have assisted with our Kettle Campaign in past years and it is our hope that they would be willing to volunteer their time and energy again. For those who have not had this opportunity, we would be grateful if they could find time in their busy schedules to help us as well.
The kettles are placed in the mall and stores from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday to Saturday beginning November 25th until December 24th. Usually our groups cover a whole day in two or three hour shifts with a person designated to relieve for coffee and lunch breaks; six volunteers can easily cover one day. Of course, if you choose to have two people per shift that removes the need for a ‘break person’. The person co-ordinating your group could phone or email me for more information. Various days and times are available so we urge you to book early to ensure you are scheduled at your preferred time(s).
Monies from the Kettle Appeal enable us to not only assist families at Christmas time but also throughout the year. Our responsibility to the families of Brandon and Westman is the same as in years past; to assist with their physical, emotional and spiritual needs. In fact, we anticipate we will have even more families needing our assistance this year.
The ‘Kettle Kickoff Breakfast’ will start at 8:00 a.m. on November 25th at the Imperial Ballroom of the Victoria Inn. We would like have a representative(s) from your organization join us – we promise to be finished by 9:00. Please RSVP by November 18th who will be attending.
We look forward to hearing from you. Thank you and God bless you.
Sincerely,
Janice Cameron, Christmas Kettle Coordinator
