Polio

Presidents and Treasurers,

In an earlier email, I issued a challenge to all clubs in D5550 - the $25/member for PolioPlus. As you know Rotary has been involved in the Polio project for years. Much longer that was expected, however tremendous gains have been realized to the point that the world is almost completely clear of polio cases. There is still some clean work in Pakistan and Afghanistan so we must continue to provide funds for the eradication of polio in the world. Through Rotary's participation millions and millions of children have been spared - let's win the war. Let's encourage every member in every club to contribute at least $25 - all will receive charitable receipts. The Gates Foundation will double every donation, as will the Government of Canada......every $25 donation becomes $125 - WOW - what a painless way to provide vaccine for the children at risk.

President please put out the call, Treasurer please take those cheques - all payable to TRF - Canada. Collect funds and submit by April 30 - to make your job easier I have attached the Multiple Donor form for your use.

Bob Durston and I will review all contributions made to PolioPlus by all clubs while taking club membership into consideration. The PolioPlus Club Challenge winner will be announced at District Conference in Gimli. Let's have some fun with this - and KICK POLIO OUT OF THE WORLD.
