Rotaty Minutes

Thursday, May 26th

In attendance: Lois, Dayle, Jacquie,Judy, George,Theo, Pat

Meeting called at 5:50, opened with  Rotary Grace

Chamber lunch June 9th - Welcoming new Chamber president Terry Burgess

May 31st Fair trade meeting Lois will be attending. 

June 6th Mirelle will be presenting at city hall at 645pm (Fair Trade)

Rotaract meeting report from George -  met Tuesday at Starbucks. Invited Cheryl (president) from Brandon Club. Set Serve Smash volleyball tournament June 19th @ 10am at Kin Park(Aberdeen Ave) Teams of 3, $15/team proceeds, to Helping Hands.They will probably need some help with the BBQ. They will sponsor a RYLA student this year. 

Friday, June 24th noon club putting on Burger Day BBQ 11-2 at Princess Park. Tickets are $5 each. George has some available for purchase.

Fair schedule needs to be filled in! Let Dayle know when you can work!

Grade Eight Grad award list to be filled out to present. June 23rd, June 24th, June 28th,June 29th. We will need to assign people to present.

Dayle has sent tenders out to The Vic Inn, Royal Oak and Keystone for the Beer Festival. $3892.50 for both Royal Oak and Vic Inn.

 April 8 is available at Vic Inn.

 March 25th is available at Royal Oak. (march 25th is the start of spring break - not a 

 To get sponsorship from Liquor and Lotteries we need to have a date that does not conflict with the Winnipeg Wine festival , Beer Festival and Whiskey Festival.

June 24-25 Flatlanders Beer Festival in Wpg. Suggested we should go to lobby the vendors to come to our Beer Festival.

Suggest that we ask Russel Dwyer to paint the windows of the liquor mart again.

To work with the best date (April 8) Dayle will book the Vic Inn.

Look at Budget/donations for next year: to make an international donation (June 16th speaker SDH to present on schooling in Central America, to pay to send children to school ), donation of a shelter box ($1200. Canadian)

Discussion on other ways to spend our fundraising money.
