Rotary Minutes
Monday, February 26th

Meeting called at 5:50, Opened with OCanada and Rotary grace
Guest Speaker Marty Snelling gave a presentation on a new facility the CMHA is hoping to have opened in Brandon – A detox and rehab facility as well as a facility for resources and education on Drug abuse/addiction. Drug use is 1st on the Top 20 risk factors identified in Brandon, and yet we lack a proper facility to treat this. They will be looking for outside funding once the proposal has gone through.
Beer Festival: 31 radio ads sold! Posters available to put out next week. Dayle had a proposal from the Victoria Inn for a 3 year contract till 2020, Chilli ($4.25/hear) and Room rate ($1575.00) would remain the same, as well as they would set aside a block of 35 rooms for the vendors at a set rate and give us $5/per room booked ( would also stand for our other functions too)Motion made to accept that proposal 1st by Dayle,2nd Judy. Discussion-would there be a penalty if we had to break the contract? What about growing/expansion? Could need to add another day to event in future if it continues to grow. Motion carried.
Coat check : Auditorium taken care of up until mid-March. ***March 15th Chamber dinner coat check at the Keystone center starts at 4:45 pm, all hands on deck! Some of us can start the night off, others can finish if able. There will be pizza provided (allergies have been accounted for)
PETS weekend is March 17/18/19. Sheri is attending. Walter will get back to the club on his availability.
District Conference reminder – May 24/25/26 in Regina. Register and pay by March 15th for a discount.
