5 December Meeting

ROTARY MEETING – December 5, 2013
ATTENDANCE: Rob Bellmont, Pat Bowslaugh, Margaret Crofton, Jeanne Gitzel, Alf Hackenschmidt, George Horton, Lois Horton, Dayle Hughson, Bill Kichak, Diane Squair
GUEST: Jim Ferguson, Neelin High School Off-Campus Program
Rob began the meeting as chair.
We opened with O Canada and the Rotary Grace.
After a brief mention of the meeting format, Rob left the meeting, and Lois took the chair.
Pat introduced our guest speaker, Jim Ferguson. He gave an inspiring presentation on the program that is offered at Neelin High School for Off-Campus students. His topic generated much interest and many questions from those in attendance.
Pat thanked Jim for his presentation.
It was suggested that Neelin’s Off-Campus program would be a good area for our club to provide a scholarship.
The meeting followed with a general discussion, and it was felt that we need an executive meeting. This will be held on Monday, December 9 at 7:00 p.m. at Horton’s home – 16 Willow Place.
The New Year’s Baby gifts need to be collected. George will send a special bulletin to the members to give the list of places contacted last year and also inform everyone of the Executive Meeting.
Pat has offered to host our Christmas Party on Saturday, December 14 at 5:30 – 5:45 p.m. at her home. This will be a pot – luck supper. More information will be available at the meeting on December 12.
