1. Kim:

• Brandon Bear Clan
  • Kim joined Brandon Bear Clan to patrol, joined women’s council- women are peace keepers
  • Received a grant from Brandon neighborhood renewal corp
  • June 2^nd first patrol in Brandon - patrol twice a week
  • What they do: Help people and prevent the need for police (help, information and supplies)
  • Only intervein if there is harm to themselves or the community
  • Teachings come from the elders – Brandon is the black bear and colors are burgundy and white
  • Requests are needed before bear clan patrols an area
  • From June 2017-feb 2018:
    • 923 people patrol
    • Total needles found 43
    • Care kits supplied 252
    • Homeless identified 38
    • Total contacts made 1151
• How do you join?

• Friday 7-9 and Saturday night 2-4
• Brandon Aboriginal Youth Activity Centre
  • Unit B -602 Rosser Avenue, Brandon MB, R7A0K7
• Pacific to 15^th 
• Lorne, Louise up to Victoria

• What we can do as a club?
  • Bottled water- low supplies for summer

• Drugs issues in Brandon

• City continue to act like it is not a problem
• Shelter runs only in winter time
• No budget to help people with drug issues

  • Kim’s son had to go to Winnipeg to get help because Brandon doesn’t have help
  • Drug trafficking is causing increase in crime and homelessness
  • Sent 11 letters to all forms of government
    • All said the problem in community is the community’s problem to deal with 
    • Went in front of city council and contacted many people about concerns of resources

• Jan 2018 Kim started the foundation in conjunction with Addictions Foundation of Manitoba
• Ultimate goal is to develop a healing center in Westman area that will provide holistic treatment
• Started and event called “take back out streets” solidarity rally
  • Street sponsorship is $25
  • Roland Vandal motivational speaker
  • Bear clan will be leading the rally

1. No meeting on March 26^th!! Winter fair

1. Winter fair schedule for guest services sign up sheet – talk to Dayle if you can sign in
2. Got $500 grant for end of year school book donation
3. Beer fest
   1. Sheri would like to a fb ad– motioned by Lois, seconded by Whitney, all in favour
   2. Liquor marts requested more tickets to sell!!!
   3. Radio ad- sold 35 ads, have to buy 1 ourselves to reach 36. We made $2900 profit
4. Ribfest
   1. Brandon mobility- want a gold sponsor for rib fest!!!
   2. Amy is still working on getting people for music 
      1. Chris Ghidoni were booking for Friday & Saturday night
5. Human trafficking speaker next week
6. Donate $50 to Brandon University food bank fundraiser, professor pie in the face. Motioned by Lois, seconded by Amy, all in favour
7. Grim acres are looking for volunteers for grim acres brave the shave. October 6^th,2018 October 7^th is rain date. Sheri is also collecting donation to collect money for when she gets her hair shaved
8. Dayle would like us to buy a table of IANE dinner- if you would like to pay club back it is $35 april 11^th,2018
9. Lois wants to acknowledge Whitney for getting out invoices promptly for beerfest
