The Pride of Work Awards recognise members of the local community in Burleigh and surrounding suburbs who demonstrate exceptional pride in their work, including their approach, attitude, dedication and commitment to their job.

Pride of Work is not a competition, but a recognition of individual achievement and commitment.

While this is the first year that the Rotary Club of Burleigh Heads have hosted these awards, the concept of the awards has been around since 1975 when it was launched as the Pride of Workmanship Awards by Rotary District 9680.

Since then, more than 600 Rotary clubs around Australia and around the world have recognised members of their communities with a Pride of Work/Pride of Workmanship Award.

How to nominate

The Rotary Club of Burleigh Heads seeks nominations from local employers.

Guidelines for nomination:
  • The awards are open to all ages and job types/roles.
  • The emphasis is on the theme ‘Do it once and do it well.’
  • To be awarded a Pride of Work Award, the team member is someone who has:
    • A consistently high standard of work performance.
    • A strong sense of dedication and commitment to their job, and doing their job well.
    • A positive attitude.
    • The ability to take initiative.
    • Respect for the safety requirements of their role, and encourages others to operate safely.
    • The respect of their peers and co-workers, who would support their nomination and recognise them as a worthy recipient of the award.
Employers are invited to submit one nomination per organisation.

Submissions close at 5pm AEST on 5 October 2021.

A limited number of awardees will be selected to receive the award from the nominations received. Recipients will be determined by the Pride of Work Committee which includes members of the Rotary Club of Burleigh Heads who are also members of the local business community.

Employers will be notified if their submission is successful by 5pm on 7 October 2021.

The recipient will not be advised by the Rotary Club of their award in advance of the award night, it is up to the employer if they would like to tell them in advance or surprise the employee on the night! The recipient and their employer will both need to be in attendance at the awards night, and we encourage you to invite other team members to join you in recognising your employee.

The awardees will attend as guests of the Rotary Club of Burleigh Heads. The nominating employer will be invited to introduce the awardee and why they were nominated as part of the awards ceremony.
