LAST WEEK'S GUEST SPEAKER

Matt shared his journey from running yoga retreats in the UK to moving to Australia, returning to corporate life, and ultimately founding his meditation business, MI Meditation. He described how daily practice supported his career transition, improved relationships, and helped him lead major projects calmly. Matt has since run successful community classes, workplace workshops, and is expanding into aged care and online programs. Members experienced a three-minute guided meditation, illustrating how even brief pauses can reduce stress and enhance wellbeing. For a free trial, click here.

This week's meeting is fellowship and committee information. Each director will sit at a different table and members are encouraged to learn more about the portfolios and ways they can assist.

Meeting Information

International Toast

Ross shared a memorable encounter at the Rotary International Convention in Calgary, where he and Mark met members of the Rotary Club of Naperville (near Chicago). He described Naperville as a prosperous, attractive community with a vibrant, youthful Rotary club heavily engaged in international service, particularly projects in Kenya.

Youth Programs and Opportunities

Members were reminded of several Rotary youth programs currently open for applications, including RYPEN, RYTS, RYLA, and the National Youth Science Forum. The club offers sponsorships, with full or partial support depending on program costs, and members are encouraged to refer interested students.

Service and Recognition

Bruce was recognised for his generous US$1,000 donation to the Polio Fund, earning his Paul Harris Fellow level 4 pin.

Welcoming New Member – Danielle Dunsmore

The club warmly inducted Danielle Dunsmore as its newest member. With extensive experience in communications, events, and stakeholder engagement, Danielle was commended by her sponsor Rita and expressed her enthusiasm to serve and be actively involved in the club.
