Please check the roster for the next few weeks and advise John Campbell and David Ungar if you will be away that week. Absence forms will be at the attendance desk.
Last week was a Vocational Visit. A good number of our members made the scenic drive to Freeman's Organic Farm which sits high above the Currumbin Valley. Owner of the Farm, David Freeman, is a retired LTCOL, Barrister and farmer. He is also a Rotarian with the Murwillumbah Central Rotary Club. We were informed about a special project on his farm, namely the Veterans Organic Garden (VOG). We learned that it is very much a collaborative project between the farm and veterans from the local community. The vision is to cultivate a thriving regenerative organic garden that serves as a sanctuary for veterans and first responders. A place that fosters healing, community and connection through hands-on gardening. We were also told about the health benefits more broadly, from eating organic. The ‘meeting’ element of our visit was in a new glass building, which in time, will be a farm cafe which will add a further dimension to the VOG. Thank you to the volunteers who helped set up our BBQ and cooked us delicious brekky burgers!

Meeting Information
Michael Cooper reminded us that ‘Duck Season’ is fast approaching and gave us an update on our flagship fundraiser - the Duck Race. As it is every year, it is vitally important that all members consider how they can assist in this significant Club event. Thank you to the entire Duck Race Committee for all your hard work!
Ross Smith shared the very exciting news that the MUNA (Model United Nations Assembly) Team representing our District, achieved 1st Place at the national event held in Canberra. Ross has long been a supporter of this wonderful program and has coached and counselled a great many aspiring future leaders. This is ‘his’ first win and we congratulate him and the team for the outstanding result. We will welcome the students and their teacher at this week's meeting.
