Celebrating Fellowship and Friendship
Our calendar has been filled with memorable gatherings. The Changeover Dinner was a night to remember, with delicious food, inspiring speeches, and a celebration of our club awardees. Fellowship dinners, including the Friendship Dinner at the Indian Hut, have brought members together for laughter, great conversation, and a chance to strengthen bonds within our Rotary family. We also said farewell to our outgoing Youth Exchange students, celebrating their achievements and wishing them well on their journeys abroad, while looking ahead to a new student in January.
Supporting Youth and Education
Rotary is proud to support young people in our community. This year, we are sponsoring Delilah to attend the National Youth Science Forum (NYSF) and provided ongoing support to our Youth Exchange students, ensuring they have a positive and enriching experience. Our members also support local schools and youth initiatives—from helping Interact Clubs with tennis team fundraisers to collecting hundreds of textbooks, computers, and school resources for students in need. Outreach Kits provide essential items to the disadvantaged in our community and abroad.
Making a Difference in Times of Need
Our members are committed to supporting vulnerable individuals and families. Through our Emergency Community Response Fund, we’ve been able to help children affected by domestic violence continue participating in sports, providing continuity and joy during challenging times. Additionally, our outreach efforts support men experiencing homelessness, offering a simple yet meaningful opportunity to share conversation, restore dignity, and build community.
Service and Sustainability in Action
Hands-on service is at the core of everything we do. From collecting wheelchairs, walkers, and crutches to flourishing our tongs at fundraising BBQs, our members are always finding ways to help. Sustainability is a priority too: we’re actively involved in recycling initiatives, including aluminium tablet foils, and we continue to support programs that benefit both our local and international communities, like the RARE depot and school supply pickups for families overseas.
Fundraising for Impact
Fundraising is a big part of our club’s activities, and our members have shown incredible energy and dedication. From BBQs at Bunnings to managing car parks at the Kokoda Challenge, we raise essential funds for community projects while engaging with the wider community. Our Duck Race has become a highlight of the year, featuring stalls, merchandise, and “duck adoptions”, generating excitement and substantial funds for our initiatives. Recent events have raised thousands of dollars, enabling us to support youth programs, local families, and community projects efficiently and effectively.
Celebrating Achievements and Personal Milestones
Our club thrives on celebrating the accomplishments of members and friends. From marathon finishes and modelling opportunities for Youth Exchange students, to successful fundraising drives and special events, there’s always a reason to acknowledge the dedication, enthusiasm, and generosity of our members. We also keep our community engaged with initiatives like our macadamia sales and new club merchandise, building camaraderie and pride in our shared efforts.

At Burleigh Heads Rotary, we’re constantly seeking new ways to make an impact.
