Runners and Walkers Welcome!
Prizes for the top overall finishers and for the top finisher in each age category!
The Rotary Ramblin' Rabbit 5K is sponsored by the Blue Ridge Mountains Rotary Club which has been serving our local, national, and international community since 1983.  Rotarians are your friends, neighbors, and associates who have made a commitment to service above self in their personal and professional lives.
Proceeds from the Rotary Ramblin Rabbit 5K will help the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Virginia (BGCCVA) eliminate a waiting list of 100 kids at the Southwood Club!
Albemarle County’s Southwood Community, comprised of 341 mobile units and 1,500 residents, has been identified by local law enforcement and other agencies as being among our area’s most vulnerable neighborhoods. The BGCCVA’s Southwood Club, which currently serves 117 kids daily and a total of 166 members, has a waiting list of 100 kids. Ambitious expansion plans designed to eliminate the waiting list include the addition of a large mobile unit, the purchase of a 14-passenger bus, and five years of incremental operating expenses to ensure continuous service.
Ramblin Rabbit  proceeds will underwrite furniture, equipment and appliances for the new Education Room included in the expansion. The Rotary Club is proud to support the Southwood Boys & Girls Club, which is open every day after school, during most school breaks, all day during the summer and during expanded hours on weeknights – when kids need support the most. The Club offers 50 unique programs that focus on youth outcomes in the areas of academic success, healthy lifestyles, and character and leadership.
With your participation and support, proceeds from the Ramblin Rabbit 5K will help ensure that we are not missing a generation of kids who need us the most!
The Rotary Ramblin' Rabbit 5K will begin and end on the Grounds of Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC).  The course winds along side of PVCC's academic buildings and by the softball fields, proceeding to the grounds of Monticello High School and back.  Along the way are scenic views and opportunities for spectators to cheer for the race runners.
