by Don Klug
The Watertown Noon Rotary Club held the seventh annual Swimarathon to raise funds for Polio Eradication on Saturday February 23rd at the Watertown YMCA. Sixteen swimmers swam laps as promised to their donors. The “Pool 16 group”, including two Watertown High School students plus three coordinators, raised $4,750 in pledges, raising the club’s seven year total to $29,670.
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has offered to double all donations to the Rotary Foundation through 2020 when RI raises $50 Million annually. This effectively triples each donation.
