Victor Maris reminded   all of the importance   of continuing to   support Rotary's goal   of eradicating Polio   through the Polio Plus   campaign.  This   vhhproject which began in 1979 with the first shots being administered in the Philippines, has resulted in polio being significantly reduced by 99.9%.  $2.1 billion has been donated by Rotary in this effort. Cases still occur in Afghanistan and Pakistan and will emerge again in other countries without our continued support . 

Through the Rotary Foundation members are encouraged to donate to this cause. Victor shared an example of how one small club banded together to contribute over $30 000 between 2019-2022.  What started out as a club initiative to contribute based on physical activity soon was adopted by over 17 clubs in this district.  Victor played an instrumental role in this initiative and is an excellent champion for this cause.

November is Foundation Month.  Please consider donating to this important global project and play a part in continuing to ensure that polio is fully eradicated.

Sarge Judith in the Halloween spirit

Scott Robinson is our newest member.  He was supported by Darcy M and received a warm welcome from the club.

Dylan von Rambow shared a bit of his life story today in his vocational talk. He spoke proudly of his German Prussian ancestors  who emigrated to the US in 1863 and became successful in agriculture and business.  His immediate family settled in Saskatchewan.  Dylan gathered experience as a broadcaster in Alberta and laying claim to writing over 20 000 commercials during his 6 years in that industry. He joked that he became familiar with many of the businesses of Rotarians before meeting them Dylan also honed his craft Bachelor of Professional Arts, Communications) and at Harvard Business School (Certificate of Entrepreneurial Essentials).   He is currently responsible for communications and marketing for the Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre and played a major role in securing over 5 million dollars of support in the last 7 months.  

in the future Dylan would like to own a business and looks forward to learning from and connecting with successful business owners in the community and within Rotary as he pursues his dream.  Dylan is excited to be part of a supportive business community that readily shares their stories of success.  

Dylan is a key member of the Communications team and has been instrumental in creating opportunities for this club to increase their social media presence.  Welcome to Rotary, Dylan.  We are excited to have you on our team!

Leann Scarlett.

We honor the contributions of Leann, a Rotarian for 7 years and a member of this club for 4 years.  She is a Paul Harris Fellow and is a strong advocate for Rotary within the community and this club.  Leann is highly involved with Black Tie Bingo, Cycling Without Age, social activities, connecting with other clubs internationally, and volunteering at 50/50 (especially at  CFR) Her enthusiasm for Rotary is evident in all that Leann  participates in.  The leadership positions which she has held which include Social Director and Membership Chair.  Her leadership has resulted in Firesides for new members and the expansion of our club membership. Leann is a most deserving recipient of this honor.
