Happy/Sad and other Fun Things
Diane McDonell: Updated all on husband Dick's status after his fall last week. He sustained 3 broken ribs and a collapsed lung and is in great spirits. He hopes to return home soon but can be found at room 2305 at RDH.
Lynne Paradis: Encouraged members to be part of the Belize conference visit June 20-28 by being a host while they visit Red Deer. These fun loving visitors will be at the House of Friendship and involved in the Literacy Alive presentations during the conference. A new global grant is awaiting approval and plans will begin to encourage members to be involved as ambassadors. Contact Lynne, Darcy, or Judith for more information.
Lisa Mackey: Red Deer Tourism has a new visitor guide and marketing campaign that is wonderful. She also wishes her father, Jim McPherson a great birthday!
Corinna Bruin-Tewson: Koldo will be returning home at the end of June and has enjoyed his time in Canada. He will be attending a meeting in June to give us updates on his time here.
Bob Mills: Pleased to have daughter Melinda here for a visit. She was originally scheduled for meetings as part of a speaker tour in Washington DC at this time but plans changed due administrative changes in priorities. Melinda just received word that she is going to be awarded an honorary doctorate by the EU in June. Proud moment for Bob!
Robert Mast: Encouraged all to reread the cover article from the June Rotary magazine which describes the story of a Rotarian who was kidnapped in Africa a few years ago Robert met her as they were both part of a Rotary event that saw them travel to the Mt Everest Base Camp.
Jim McSween: Money is being raised for the Sylvan Food Bank through the selling of T shirts that welcome Americans to Canada as we are accepting US dollars at par (LOL) Contact him for details.
Robert Lampard: Encouraging members to attend the June 26 symposium focusing on Jim Davidson. The event is going to be at the U of C and takes place the day after the RI conference.
