Happy/Sad and other Fun Things
Leann Scarlett: Looking fabulous after her trip to Scotland. She had a wonderful time and will be returning. Leann had the opportunity to visit 2 Rotary Clubs and bring back a banner from each. The Rotary Club of Perth welcomed here as did the Rotary Club of Dublin. She shared details about their major fundraiser- a memorial tree. This innovative project will need to be explored more fully.
Garth Olson: Returned from a whirlwind trip to visit grandson in Brussels via Paris along with his daughter and son in law. He was pleased that they also got to retrace the path of his father in 1944 across Belgium.
Dagmar Knutson: 10 Peaks is offering summer camps that are focused on robotics this summer. There are camps for both elementary and older students.
Deena Kordt: Provided family and personal updates. Deanna has been busy helping her oldest daughter settle into her new home. A trip to the Autobahn in Germany with her son is in the works soon. She also reports that her son (18) is off for further studies in Lethbridge and daughter (16) is preparing for drivers road test and had a very successful ringette season, winning 3 banners. Deena also had a great time vacationing in Mexico and Costa Rica. She has made some career changes and is focusing on her pod cast business.
Chris Warren: Thanked Dan Murdock for filling in for his 50/50 shift so he could complete his 3 month holiday in Hawaii.
Iain MacDougall: Reported that the engagement ring purchased in Alberta that needed to travel to Europe for the magical proposal by his son made it safely. And she said “Yes” !
Gloria Beck: Encouraged members to attend the 50th anniversary celebration for Youth HQ on Thurs. May 21. Thanked Jim Slipp for taking her 50/50 shift so she could have a holiday in Mexico. While there, she hurt her ankle but did not let it stop her from having fun!
Bob Mills: Can now claim to have explored 7 continents as he has just returned from a visit to Antarctica.
Darcy Mykytyshyn: Sam is now preparing to get his driver's license and has been spotted on a mini motorcycle in the neighborhood. They are off to Maui for a vacation for a week.
Dawna Allard: Had a great time watching her great nephew play sledge hockey at the Western Canadian
Sledge Hockey tournament.
Leigh: “Excited?” about running her first 5K in January and she gets to do it in her favourite place- Disney! She is also motivated by the cruise that will follow as she is much more fond of cruising than running.
Judith: Did her tongue in cheek apology for continuing to mix up David Harrop and Dan Neilsen.
Robert Mast: Looking forward to running another half marathon in May- his training for the Woody's half marathon is going well.
