Ben Cecil, President, Olds College of Agriculture & Technology provided an update as Olds College continues to become a leader in its field.(no pun intended!)It has seen a growth of over 11% over the last 4 years and currently serves over 3000 students (nearly 2000 FTE). It attracts students from all corners of the world as it focuses on providing skills and knowledge necessary to keep pace in the ever changing industry of livestock and grain production.  Three schools form the college: Werklund School of Agriculture and Technology, School of Life Science and Business, and the School of Trades and Skills. The National Meat Training Centre is the only full service processor in North America- students are involved with the entire process from slaughter to retail.  The brewmaster program is the only one in Western Canada and now competes on a national stage with their products.  The Brewery was a proud supporter of our Beers for Belize fundraiser. The 3600 acre Smart Farm provides an opportunity to be involved in a commercial endeavor that contains a cow/calf operation, feedlot, and sheep farm.  Olds College has a dedicated research staff with ties to over 300 Canadian companies.   42 school districts across the province are able to offer dual credits with their affiliation with the college.  Olds College has become a leader in its field.  When you think agriculture-  think Olds College!
