President Annette thanked all who were able to volunteer for the Westerner Parade and the Community Picnic that was held last Wednesday. It was a great event and a wonderful way to showcase Rotary.
As we begin a new Rotary year, Annette also reminded all of our responsibilities for ensuring that meetings run smoothly.
The Code of Conduct guides how we participate in our Rotary meetings, events and how we represent Rotary in everyday life—with respect, integrity, fairness, kindness, and service to others.
It also connects directly to the Four-Way Test by asking us to consider whether our
words and actions are truthful, fair, build goodwill and better friendships, and are
beneficial to all concerned. In our meetings, this means listening with care, keeping comments respectful and
constructive, welcoming members and guests, supporting our speakers, and giving others the opportunity to speak.
As part of good meeting etiquette, please silence phones, limit side conversations, stay engaged, and hold comments or questions until the end of a speaker’s presentation unless invited otherwise.
Effective today, Happy/Sad sharing will be limited to one minute per member. This
change helps keep our meetings fair, welcoming, and on time, while still allowing us to share meaningful updates such as celebrations, gratitude, personal challenges, or respectful acknowledgements of illness or loss.
Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us lead by example, keeping our
meetings aligned with the values of Rotary and the Four-Way Test. Let’s each do our part today and every day to speak with kindness, listen with respect,
support one another, and reflect the best of Rotary in all that we do.

The emergency shelter provides immediate secure housing in 1 or 2 bed suites. Typical stay is 6 weeks and residents have access to a communal kitchen and washer/dryer. Transitional housing is composed of 17 one and two bedroom units for stays of 18 months. Suites include a kitchen, and washer/dryer, wi- fi, and utilities. The 23 affordable independent housing apartments are available to any women who has experienced domestic violence who may/may not have been a resident of the shelter.
