Rotary Club of Red Deer
Dagmar K during her presentation on Rotary Youth at our February 6, 2023 meeting

Rotary Youth

Dagmar Knutson and her fellow board member for RAYEC  shared information regarding the wide variety of youth initiatives that Rotary 5360 supports.  Youth can be involved through Interact (ages 12-18), Rotoract (18-20), and New Generations Service Clubs (post secondary students to age of 30) to engage in humanitarian service opportunities within their communities.  Other opportunities include year long or summer youth exchanges with students from other countries.  Interest was expressed during the discussion regarding possible involvement in this initiative as this was successful in the past.  Dagmar highlighted the Rotary Alberta Youth Entrepreneurship Camp held each August that has provided Red Deer middle school students with opportunities to develop valuable skills and attitudes.  She encouraged members to become involved in any of the initiatives as leaders, volunteers, or supporters. RYLA (awards) and RYPEN (enrichment camp) are other youth related initiatives in our district as well.
