Weekly Meeting Update

President elect Amanda O chaired the meeting.  Robert M led a subdued version of our national anthem.  Dick M continued to have control over the 50/50 draw but has not yet won it!

We were entertained with a short fact filled account of the upcoming rare hatch of cidada. This spring, two different broods of cicadas — one that lives on a 13-year cycle and the other that lives on a 17-year cycle — will emerge at the same time in event that last occurred in 1803.  The noise could reach 75 db. Areas of the Northwest US will see this phenomena.

Gerry W.: Celebrating having achieved the age of 3/4 Century
Adele: Celebrating 20 years of being a Rotarian.  Due to her new work, Adele will be joining via Zoom for many meetings. She thanks all for their friendship and opportunities to be involved in so many activities.  Good luck in your new endeavour.
Gloria: Thanks extended to the staff of Prime Boiler in being awarded a President's Citation for their support and work on the Wetlands sign.  They were an integral part of the team that made things happen.
Bob L: Recently returned from cruises in the Mediterranean, Japan and the Philippines (trying to rival Steve C's travels).  Achieved (with a "little" help from his wife) walking over 1 million steps in Asia.  He congratulated all who were involved the year of centennial activities.
