Meeting was chaired by Phil Hyde.  Dwayne Holland was the Sarge and led all in a quiz regarding the formation of Rotary. All in attendance aced the quiz! Holly led the singing of O Canada.  Those with September birthdays were also serenaded.

Bruce drew Corrine’s number but while she was able to recite the 4 Way Test she was not successful in drawing the lucky card.

 

 

Three new members were inducted.  John Donald (sponsored by Jim McPherson), Adrian Strawberry (sponsored by Daria), and Annette Eby (sponsored by Sheryl K) were welcomed to Rotary.  Congratulations to all.

 

Judith introduced Aliesha S as the August Rotarian of the Month recipient.  Aliesha is the chair of the Fellowship Committee.   She spearheaded the recent Rotary after 5 socials and coordinated the recent interclub social at Parkland Garden Centre.  Aliesha organized volunteers for the Red Deer Airshow.  Her enthusiasm for promoting Rotary is contagious! Congratulations.

 

Amanda introduced Bruce B as the September Rotarian of the Month recipient.  Bruce is the chair of the Community Service Committee and helped to facilitate the interclub involvement in the recent Community Service Week. Through his leadership Rotary has been able to support many community initiatives.  Thank you Bruce for being an excellent ambassador of Rotary in the community.

Adele shared that the season is drawing to an end.  The trishaws will be on display at the upcoming Seniors Fair on Sept 28 at the Collicut Centre Thanks to Donna Purcell for allowing us to showcase our trishaws as part of her booth at the Farmers' Market .Big thanks to Victor for his dedication to being a driver all summer long.  It is anticipated that the trishaws will be serviced before being put into storage for the winter.  The practice of having the trishaws at one location for a longer period of time was very successful.   An application has been submitted to the City regarding a grant that would allow the purchase of 2 more trishaws.  Please contact Adele if you wish to attend the AGM in October at Universal Mortgage.
