Matching Funds for Your Rotary Foundation Contribution
!
!There have been many demands on our time, energy and financial charity this year both within our Rotary world and with events in general. Many Rotarians have given generously to the Rotary Foundation, local Foundations, various charities as well as the Flood relief effort in Southern Alberta. Can you believe that was almost one year ago?
The Rotary Foundation was established in 1947 and over $1 billion has been contributed towards Polio Plus, Global and District project grants. Our Club and its members have contributed over $380,000 in the past 67 years and awarded 181 Paul Harris Fellowships. We currently have 47 Paul Harris Fellows and 8 members contributing towards their first award.
Our District 5360 wishes to extend to all Rotarians the opportunity to complete your first or additional Paul Harris Fellow this Rotary year by providing matching "District recognition points" before June 15, 2014 for contributions from US$100 to $500. Our Club as in the past will also provide matching points towards the Paul Harris award. With the current US exchange rate of 1.11, it will require $370 Cdn along with Club and District matching to become a Paul Harris Fellow. This is your opportunity to become a Paul Harris fellow, or alternately to recognize someone special to you as a Paul Harris Fellow.
Contributions can be made online following the instructions below or completing the first page the donation form, available on our website here. Donation form and payment (payable to Rotary Foundation and not Rotary Club of Red Deer) can be returned to me before June 12, 2014 and I will complete the necessary paperwork to obtain matching funding from the District.
Instructions for completing on-line
1) Go to Rotary Foundation Canada website: http://www.clubrunner.ca/Portal/Home.aspx?accountid=100984
2) Select “Make a Donation”
3) Select “Give Now” under I want to support Rotary’s current work
4) Select role as Club member and confirm this role. If not registered on-line as member you will be required to register your e-mail and create a password to gain access. Alternative is to complete the attached paperwork and write a cheque to Rotary Foundation.
5) Select either Polio Plus or any category under Annual Fund and press “continue”
6) Enter gift details and press “continue”
7) Enter billing information and press “continue”
8) Print Contribution Confirmation and provide a copy to me at glwinia@shaw.ca so that I can completed additional paperwork and send to the District before June 15, 2014.
