Rotary Meeting Notes -  October 21st 2013

 
President Darcy Mykytyshyn got a resounding ``Good Afternoon`` from the club, after weeks of practice. As a political junkie, Darcy asked that everyone running for public office in today`s election please stand and be recognized. They include Terry Balgobin, Cindy Jefferies, and Ken Johnston.

ImageVictoria, our inbound student gave an update about her past two weeks. She was able to go to Canmore, Lake Louise, and Banff. She also went to Lethbridge for a birthday celebration, to a movie, bowling, shopping, and a hockey game. Well done Victoria!!

Darcy gave the Club a reminder of this Thursday`s Black Tie Bingo. Also next week`s meeting will feature Janice Wing about ``Foundation`` and Victoria will do her introductory presentation.

Don O`Dell was our Sarge for the day.

Guests of Rotary include Pat and Linda Killoran, District 5360 Governor, Damien Zapakoski, Dan Jefferies, Clarence Torgenson.

Visiting Rotarians included BJ Tumanut, Victoria Debonnet, Ray Miller, Joe Miller, Terry Balgobin, Neil Berg.

Happy/Sad bucks: Don O'Dell had happy bucks for a European vacation, Janice wing had celebratory bucks for the RDC Wine Auction and a family wedding in Calgary. Ken Johnston had 10 happy bucks for his busy past five months, Cindy Jefferies had happy bucks for a good committee, good volunteers, and good advice. Bre Fitzpatrick had happy dollars for rescheduling staff meetings at her work to accommodate Rotary meetings. Dianne McDonnel had advisory dollars that all Club members will be requested to sing O Canada at the front of the stage at the Black Tie Bingo.

Image50-50 Draw was won by Jack Donald but he did not draw the lucky joker. He was impeccable at the FOUR way test.

Our Guest Speaker, District Governor Patrick Killoran, presented an update on our district's recent activities, work with Rotary International, and the new Rotary theme: "Engage Rotary, Change Lives."
