ROTARY MEETING
MAY 27
2013

ImageOur Rotating President this week was Ken Johnston and our Sargeant at Arms was Blaine Newton.  Before the mic was properly turned on, Blaine joked about a panhandler owing him a coffee, and it went downhill from there.  He made a mention of Toronto Mayor Rob Ford and suggested that our club crowdsource some money to purchase a video of Mayor Morris Flewwelling possibly sipping some 'domestic' Chardonnay.

Happy/Sad Bucks....included happy bucks from two members who recently returned from Europe (separately), a reminder of the upcoming Mac and Cheese Luncheon - tickets are 80 percent sold --get yours now, some announcement bucks for the Rotary East Club's "Celtic Country" coming up this Saturday feature St. James Gate.  Announcement bucks from the Belize committee of an upcoming meeting for people wishing to volun-travel or be a vocational team member for the next Belize endeavour -- Wednesday May 29th at 4:30 PM at Holy Family School -- Call Lynn Paradis at 587-877-8512.  Graham Scofield had announcement dollars for the upcoming Cal Dallas Golf Tournament Monday June 17th at the Innisfail Golf and Country Club.

50-50 draw went to Ken Ing who drew the king of clubs instead of the necessary ace.

The Sarge asked City Council hopefuls Ken Johnston and Cindy Jeffries each pay two dollars before they have to pay for campaign signs.  He also extracted two dollars from everyone who didn't sit in the front row of tables.

ImageThe program portion of the meeting was supplied by our two Interntional Exchange students, Anni from Finland, and Stefan Lapalme who is heading to Taiwan.

Jack Panteluk read a list of grant applicants for the Spring granting session.
