If caught early the treatment has a 90% success rate and the best method for early detection is to use a bowel cancer screening test. This simple and easy test is sent free, courtesy of the government, to all Australians every couple of years, from age 50 to 78. However more than 1000 Australians under the age of 50 are diagnosed with bowel cancer each year, so it is extremely important for all age groups to test themselves.Each year Rotary Clubs from around Australia partner with Bowel Cancer Australia to promote the use of these tests. These kits are different to the government sponsored ones. They are more accurate and easier to use. You can collect one of these kits at your local pharmacy for a potential life saving $15.
