He was born in the Beauce and and went to high school in Rigaud at College Bourget and did his university at the University de Montreal. He left Canada in 1974 for Pucallpa Peru. He has been president of the human rights office in Pucallpa for the last 27 years. He is a founding member of the Rotary Club Of Yarinacocha and was president in 2012-2013. He has gotten many wells dug and even got a couple of Quebecers to build two schools and named them after their wives. Peru is very lucky to have him. Father Gerald thanked us for all our support and our big hearts. he wants us to visit Peru and would welcome us with open arms. He said when he arrived in Pucallpa in 1974 it was a town of 60,000 people now it is over 500,000. He showed many photos and talke
d about the two medical and dental clinics per year  that he runs for children. He said the clinic runs from 8:00- 13:00 and has eight doctors and staff and nobody is payed. The cost per treatment is $3 US. He said that our club has sent over $26,000 the past few years to support these medical clinics and has supplied a few wheelchairs and water filters.
Marco thanked our speaker and said he knows how hard it is there in Peru and told Father Gerald to keep up the good work.
