Focus On Climate Future Draws 150 Registrants to Rotary Forum

14th Annual Community Forum Features Leading Minnesota Climate Experts

A nearly overflow crowd jammed into the Town and Country Ballroom in St. Paul in early May to listen to a memorable panel discussion with an array of local climate experts focusing on Minnesota's climate future and using the Rotary Four Way Test as the foundation of the discussion. The five experts presented climate science’s latest findings, impacts and urgency; and identified hopeful solutions to protect further loss of what is sacred to us.

Panelists included:

  • Paul Huttner, Chief Meteorologist for Minnesota Public Radio
  • Alan Anderson, Northfield Rotary Climate Action Team
  • Kathryn Hoffman, Chief Executive Officer, Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy
  • Nicole Rom, Executive Director, Climate Generation: A Will Steger Legacy
  • Russ Stark, Chief Resilience Officer, City of St. Paul
"We were very pleased with the quality of the panelists, their thoughtful presentations, and the animated discussion that their presence created," said Ellen Luepker, chair of the Forum Planning Committee and a member of the St. Paul Sunrise Rotary Club. "Paul Huttner mentioned after the Forum to me that from his perspective, the audience seemed engrossed listening to the  panel. I was delighted that comments from the audience following the Forum reflected immense appreciation for our stellar panel's knowledge, diversity and organization."
