Girls on the Run Northwest Illinois Speaker Laurie Dayon

Laurie Dayon - Girls on the Run - was our guest speaker during our Zoom Meeting on Thursday, May 7, 2020.  
 
Laurie became involved with Girls on the Run after reading about the program in a running magazine.  She decided that even though Girls on the Run wasn't in her community when she was a child, it didn't mean she couldn't have it in her community today.  She placed a call to Girls on the Run International and in 2007, Laurie founded Girls on the Run in McHenry County.
 
Girls on the Run's Mission Statement:  We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.
 
Girls on the Run's Vision Statement:  We envision a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.
