The Rotary Club of Fox Valley Sunset's Charity Fund Board approved a donation to AMITA Health Foundation of $3000.00 which was increased by District 6440's COVID-19 matching grant by another $1000 for a grand total of $4000.
Our donation helped facilitate multiple services that are critical to provide during the COVID-19 pandemic that is impacting the delivery of behavioral health services at ABBHH. Providers will be able to offer virtual visits and services allowing them to care for patients while they are at home or engaged in the hospital’s inpatient units or emergency department.
Specific services that will be offered using iPad Pros from our donation include:
Telehealth & Web Chats – Telehealth services use videoconferencing when an in-person appointment is not an option. These appointments are conducted as a live, direct interaction with providers addressing patient health concerns and questions about a treatment plan and needed prescriptions. Web chats with family members will be available for hospitalized patients while our facilities must adhere to a “no visitor restriction.”
Virtual Groups – Due to current social distancing recommendations to stop the spread of the virus, providers will convene virtual group sessions. This service will allow patients to continue “meeting” in a group setting where they interact and receive support that they need to address challenges and maintain healthy behaviors. Group sessions are a lifeline for patients in need of extra support and encouragement while they are in recovery.
Behavioral Health Medicine – Psychiatrists are available to conduct virtual consultations with patients in a medical setting requiring this service. Additionally, psychiatrists can also provide virtual consults with patients presenting with behavioral health and/or substance use disorders in ABBHH’s emergency room.
We are proud to be able to support AMITA Health Foundation.
