Welcome to the Iqaluit Rotary Club’s website. We are very pleased that you have taken the time to visit our site, and show an interest in Rotary.

Iqaluit’s Rotary Club was established in 1978, and since inception, and with community support, we have raised and collectively contributed over $2,000,000 back into Iqaluit.

With approximately 40 members, we are a very busy club.

All funds raised by Rotary go back to this community, or contribute to third world projects.

Some of the activities we fund and support include a community Fall Fair, an Elder’s Supper that feeds over 100 residents, a Community Brunch linked with Toonik Tyme, the annual spring games celebrations, Bursaries and Awards for a variety of students, coordination of High School Graduation Photos, coordination of an annual Christmas Hamper program that is delivered to over 200 residents, and additional support for the Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity and the Nunavut Kamatsiaqtut Help Line.

These are only some of the things we do and offer.

Our club established a park in Apex (a smaller community a few kilometers from Iqaluit), and we also hope you have either visited, or will soon visit this beautiful part of Nunavut. The park includes barbeque areas, as well as one of the most panoramic views of the Apex/Iqaluit area overlooking Frobisher Bay.

Our club has also coordinated and contributed to several third world projects such as building homes in Central America, and setting up a computer lab for teacher education in Peru.

Our club goals are to:

  • Sustain or increase the membership base
  • Implement successful projects that continue to address the needs of our community and communities in other parts of Canada and the world
  • Support the Rotary Foundation through both program participation and financial contributions
  • Develop leaders capable of serving in Rotary and beyond the club levelAs AsA
As part of Iqaluit's Rotary Club, each and every member takes ownership of these objectives by volunteering on committees, at events, and most importantly by utilizing Rotary’s Four Way Test as our guide.

The Four Way Test (of the things we think, say or do)
  1. Is it the Truth?
  2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  3. Will it build GOOD WILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
  4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
