President Keith called the meeting to order at precisely 7:15 AM.
After introductions, and welcome back to Bill Lloyd, Donna Yancey-Schneider and Renee Herman, Club Members enjoyed breakfast in advance of being treated to 2 Guest Speakers.

Speaker 1 - Lorna Scott (bio included in pamphlet) shared her story of her husband’s journey through cancer. Lorna’s husband was a member of Sunrise Rotary prior to a move to Red Deer. The trials, tribulations and responsibility of family care givers were highlighted.  In Canada there are currently an estimated 8 million care givers.  There are 5 million Canadians aged 65 or over and this number will double by 2032.  Many employees are caregivers as well as employees and policies that support and address this fact are important.  You can learn more about Lorna and her work at www.AcceleratedSuccessConsulting.ca

Speaker 2 - David Humphrey, from Community Futures (Entre-Corp and formerly of the MHC Enactus) shared information regarding the Alberta Youth Entrepreneurship Camp (AYEC).  The camp is organized and sponsored by Community Futures and is a week long summer camp held at Eagles Nest Ranch.  The objective of the camp is to give youth age 13 to 15 (total of 60) experience in small business.  Mr. Humphrey was soliciting financial support for the camp as well as volunteers (12 needed).  The cost for each participant is $1,000.00 and the experience is offered at no cost to the participants. It was requested that Sunrise Rotary indicate support by April 30, 2015. Community Futures is working with clubs across Rotary District 5360 with the goal of total sponsorship in the future.
