Casino Fundraiser for Ukraine:A highly successful event organized by Brent Olesky, with a poker tournament attracting 30+ players including Scott Korbett and Todd Brown. We raised $4,580, significantly more than the anticipated $2,000.
Ukrainian Christmas Party: A joy filled gathering at Honkers, with 107 children and 100 parents. Families received $100 Save On cards and children got $20 Park Place gift cards. The event, supported by many volunteers, was a wonderful example of community spirit and was featured in the Lethbridge Herald.
Upcoming Events and Projects
Ongoing Ukraine Support Project: Our club continues to assist Ukrainian families, with over 70 families already helped. Efforts are led by Todd and Dennis, focusing on providing furniture and other necessities.
Formation of Ukraine Rotaract Club: Starting in January, Dennis and Todd, along with a dedicated committee, will work on establishing a Rotaract Club within the Ukrainian community.
Seniors Home Dance and Social Event: Organized by Chris Yauck and Stephanie Leavitt, this event aims to foster community engagement, with details to be finalized soon.
Your active participation and support in these initiatives are invaluable to our community's continued growth and welfare.
ROTARY FOUNDATION
Setting Foundation Goals: Karla, our Foundation Chair, emphasizes the importance of establishing specific goals and benchmarks for various Rotary Foundation categories. This strategic approach will enhance our effectiveness and transparency, especially in our online engagements.
Successful Casino Fundraiser: Todd reflected on the recent casino fundraiser, a fun and fruitful event that successfully raised over $4,000. This shows our potential to raise significant funds in a single evening, potentially even reaching $5,000. It's important to note that these funds are not tied to AGLC, and future fundraising opportunities of a similar fashion will be considered (St. Patrick's Day event?)
Let's continue working together to positively impact our Foundation's goals.

YOUTH PROGRAMS
Outbound Student Approval: Tracy, overseeing our Youth Program, has approved Sarah Talbot from Catholic Central High School (CCH) as an outbound student. Sarah, who will be 18, is set to represent our club and community abroad.
Host Family Arrangement: Sarah’s parents have graciously agreed to be host parents, showcasing the supportive spirit of our Rotary community.
Local Club Participation: It's worth noting that other clubs in town will not be hosting a student next year. This emphasizes the unique role our club plays in fostering international youth exchange.
Our club continues to be a proud supporter of youth development and cultural exchange.

Future Initiatives and Needs
Social Media Team Expansion: We're looking to recruit a dedicated social media manager to oversee our online presence. Additionally, we need more committee members who can help maintain our professional public image. I'll be approaching potential candidates in January.
Seeking Media Relations Expert: We are on the lookout for someone with expertise in media relations to enhance our club's engagement with the broader community. Suggestions for potential candidates are highly welcome.
Your input in these areas are crucial for our club's continued success and positive community impact.
