Foundation Month - President Sherry filled in for Steve and presented a viseo and Power Point on Foundation Giving. Of note, normally Annual Fund giving is $15 - 20,000 USD per year and so far this year only $3500. We have several months but just a reminder that donations in December get a tax receipt for 2019. December Community Service, Fellowship and Engagement - Dec 18 1-4 PM at "Christmas to Remember". Charity donation to "Victim Services". Team#2 Lead Mark Morad. Members:Alexander, Friesen, Orich, Larson, Hosack (Allen), Weersink, Lloyd and Pharo. However, everyone is welcome.
Martin Thomsen from the City of Lethbridge gave a great presentartion on the City's Well Being and Safety Strategy. By popular demand he will be back December 2 for Q and A. In the meantime here is the link to his presentation.
Important Club Elections - As per the bylaws Murray Pritchard will chair the 5 person nominating committee. Marilyn agreed to be the fifth person joining Murray, Sherry, Mandy and Allan. Anyone who is interested in running for a board position please contact Murray. murray@milnepritchard.com The target date for elections is January 6, 2020.
Meals and Guests - Members are asked to meet their guests at the door to ensure that meal costs and meal tickets are managed accurately. Meal costs for guests are to be paid by their host excluding guest speakers and Rotaract.
Black and Gold Paused - President Sherry explained the survey results and the boards decision to pause Black and Gold for one year and focus on Lobsterfest and Ribfest to generate the necessary fundraising.
Connect and re-connect - This week Pat Killoran and Murray Anderson connect with new members Matt and Whitney (that's not Pratt and Whitney).
Salvation Army Kettles - Thanks to those who may have missed Mondays meeting because they were manning the Kettle and Murray Hughson for organizing.
Kelli-Rae needs more members to record "Why Rotary" videos for social media. Simply a recording of why Rotary is important to you.
Rotary Magazines - Please bring your "well read" Rotary magazines to future meetings for the benefit of Honorary Members who do not receive one or for visitors interested in Rotary.
Dragonboats - delivered a cheque for $3555 as our portion of the 2018 event. Thank you. Dragonboats also needs a Treasurer. Anyone who might have an interest please speak to Barrie Orich.
Mentors Needed - Each new member is assigned a mentor (experienced Rotarian). Barrie Orich is in need of additional volunteers for this program. bgorich@shaw.ca
