Only 20 members joined for in person lunch on July 12. It is summer when attendance is lighter but please make every effort to get back to pre-Covid attendance levels. Thank You

 

Last weeks Rotary Pub Nights were a success with 46 members, partners and prospects in attendance. It was a relaxed and fun way to re-acquaint. Several suggested we repeat this fellowship opportunity.

 

Help Wanted - Tracy Hamilton (Youth Chair) still needs two volunteers, one to be the club contact for RYPEN and the other for RYLA. For new members these are weekend youth camps organized by the District and the task is simply to find a few candidates for each through the high schools. An easy way to contribute to club service. Help Wanted - Lynda Kavanagh (membership chair) needs a volunteer to help in coordinating weekly greeters and follow up with members we haven't seen for a while. Easy work and done on your own time. Contact Lynda@wowcommunications.ca

 

Editorial comment - Both of the above requests are from very new members who, despite limited experience and limited knowledge of their fellow members, have agreed to join the board and chair a portfolio. Surely members with more experience and less/no Rotary responsibilities might be able to help.

 

Ribfest is developing well. Nick reports there will be more eating space on site and more local vendors located in the seating area. Target is 6000 cars (up from 5400). Watch for volunteer sign up over the next weeks. You will be needed.

 

Volunteers are needed for the Hospital Garden. Three or four per week on Wednesdays. Details and sign up at the following link.

 

Plasma Donations - Thank you to those who volunteered to give The Gift of Life. Our Rotary Club is organizing on July 28th to make donations toward our annual pledge. The cutoff date for appointments was July 13 but if you are interested for next time contact Chris Yauck. chrisyauck@gmail.com
