Our club has proudly approved a significant contribution of $5,000 to Adaptable Outdoor, facilitating the acquisition of an accessible canoe to enhance their outdoor activities. Additionally, we have allocated $500 in support of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) in Lethbridge, aiding in the initiation and coverage of starting expenses. Dennis has played a key role in these efforts, having actively participated in the initial meeting that saw considerable attendance from the Ukrainian community.
INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS
In the International Projects report, there's an update on our dental project in Nepal. We've encountered some obstacles due to the government scrutinizing medical aid programs. This decision stems from concerns over groups using medical aid as a front for religious conversion, which goes against the local government's policies. As Rotary maintains a strict stance of neutrality in religious matters, we are constantly ensuring our involvement and our actions align with our principles and respect local regulations.
FUNDRAISING
The LobsterFest committee is doing an outstanding job, and everything points to what promises to be a fantastic event. We are truly appreciative of the team's dedication and hard work. Looking ahead, we've started initial planning for our next big event, the Black Tie Gala Goes Broadway. We're excited to begin sharing promotional materials for this event once LobsterFest has successfully concluded.
PUBLIC RELATIONS
In a recent Rotary webinar, ClubRunner Nova, the new and user-friendly software tailored for modern use was unveiled. ClubRunner Nova is set to roll out for clubs and districts by the end of 2024. This cutting-edge platform promises enhanced security measures and an improved user experience. Our club has been approved to join the beta testing group, securing early access to this promising tool.
