MANDY DECECCO KOLEBABA: A Carnival of Service, Laughter, and Early Mornings

Early Bird and Family Anchor
"Ready for something riveting? Every morning my eyes pop open at 4:30-5am, ready and excited for coffee and alone time. As you can imagine, I ALWAYS have a boy on me, whether it's one of my three sons, husband, or all four.  Don't be fooled, I am very desirable.
After that, I make five lunches - it's something I 'get to do', instead of 'have to do', which makes it very enjoyable – and my lunches are AMAZING.
Then it is:
Work, work, work.
Talk, talk, talk
Listen, listen, listen
Fix, fix, fix
Laugh, laugh, laugh
I love my work! I have been able to create the job I always wanted which combines business, strategy, mental health, connection, and solving problems! My clients become friends.
Then it is home to homework, dinner, cuddles, stories, loudness, yelling, more laughing, and sweet dreams.
Then we do it all again!"

A Rotary Journey Begins
During her student years at the University of Lethbridge, Mandy engaged in a transformative work-study in Malaysia, where she not only taught English and drama but also spearheaded a charitable play that funded a Rotary project for seniors' mobility. This experience led to a lasting friendship with a local Rotary leader and inspired her eventual Rotary membership upon returning home, marking the beginning of what would become one of her most enduring commitments, and "second longest relationship," since 2005.

The Essence of Rotary
To Mandy, Rotary is the harmony of relationships and goodwill. She finds its unique blend of community service and personal connections enriching, fostering a secure and philanthropic network in both her professional and personal life.

Memorable Rotary Moments
Mandy reminisces about heartwarming Rotary initiatives, from seniors' dinners to global education projects. During her presidency, coinciding with our club's centennial, Mandy not only led with dedication but also navigated her new role as a mother. Holding newborn Jude, she exemplified leadership and warmth, deeply appreciating the support from our members during this landmark year, noting “it was really special!”

Leaping Into Rotary
Her advice for prospective Rotarians? Jump in with both feet and "don't be scared off by the singing, and chanting 😉"

Joy Beyond Service
Away from Rotary and work, Mandy finds joy and rejuvenation on the ski slopes with her boys, embodying the spirit of #mamasboysforlife.

Conclusion: Embracing the Humor and Heart of Service
Mandy's story is one of laughter, dedication, and community impact. From early morning family routines to meaningful Rotary engagements, she embodies a spirited approach to life and service. Her journey, marked by humor and a deep commitment to helping others, is an example for anyone looking to make a difference while enjoying the ride.
