Online contributions break records during the period October 18 - 24, 2010

During the week of 18 - 24 October, 2010, approximately US$3.3 million was raised in online contributions for PolioPlus. To honour World Polio Day on October 24, The Rotary Foundation offered for the first time double Paul Harris Fellows recognition points for online-only contributions of US$100 or more during the week.

The results represent a significant increase in online donations. To compare, US$600,000 in online donations to PolioPlus were made from January to September 2010.

As of 22 November 2010, Rotarians have raised approximately US$154.3 million for the US$200 Milion Challenge. These contributions will help Rotary raise US$200 million in challenge grants from The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The resulting US$555 million will directly support immunization campaigns in developing countries, where polio continues to infect and paralyze children, robbing them of their futures and compounding the hardships faced by their familes.

That's not news, that too is reality.
