It is with great excitement to announce that Grafton Midday Rotary has a new home at the Crown Hotel!

 

At last Thursday night's Board meeting it was discussed to investigate the possibility of moving our home to the Crown, which was a unanimous decision to proceed. A small group (Lee, Jenny H & Mark B) met with Sylvia from the Crown on Saturday to discuss our thoughts of moving, and the result was astounding to say the least.

 

Since Roches has been unsettled now for quite a while with ownership and still without a kitchen, the board felt that it was necessary to investigate another home for the club and as the Crown have been very supportive of our club & members to date, we thought the Crown was the best option to investigate.

 

Our meeting room will be in the room to the RHS of the bar (old Pool Table room) where we had lunch for our special meeting last Wednesday and will have shutters installed at the opening in the near future to keep our meetings more private.

 

At our meeting today we received a consensus from the members at the meeting to proceed with making our new home at the Crown Hotel supporting the board's discussions.

 

Starting at our next meeting on Wednesday 30th March, we will trial two alternate drop meals being Chicken or Fish for our members to enjoy which will be brought out around 1.15pm. The cost will be $15 P/P (cost of meal & invoiced by The Crown to GMR) payable to the club who will pay the Crown by EFT for all meals on the day. Each Wednesday Sylvia will let us know of the meals for the following week. This will expedite our meetings as we can simply buy a drink & head to the meeting room. If anyone has special diet requirements please let Jenny H or Lee know so that we can accommodate you for a suitable meal.

 

As we progress we will have to move some of the clubs items from Roches so this will occur as things move along.

It is without a doubt for the many long years that our club had a wonderful relationship with Roches that we certainly appreciate & thank Mick & Sharon & previously the Brien family for the wonderful support & great times that we enjoyed partnered together at Roches for many years, however as they say "The show must go on", so here we are moving along & progressing our club once again.

 

I'm sure that our move will be very positive for our progressive club. On behalf of the club & it's members, a huge thank you to Lee, Jenny H & Mark B for their efforts in discussing with Sylvia our positive move last Saturday.
