JOKE CORNER
The teacher of the earth science class was lecturing on map reading. He spent the class explaining about latitude, longitude, degrees, and minutes.'

Towards the end of class, the teacher asked his students, “So, suppose I asked you to meet me for lunch at 23 degrees, 4 minutes north latitude and 45 degrees, 15 minutes east longitude? What would happen?”'

After a long, nervous pause, one student’s voice broke the confused silence and volunteered, “Um, I guess you’d be eating alone, sir.”

Hello everyone & trust you had a great week.

This week’s meeting we had a summary of the successful Baton launch where we have to feel honoured as being the 1st in our district to kick off the Baton relay. Whilst attendance may not have been quite as many as thought, however given the circumstances of a Friday launch we were able to spread the word about Domestic Violence within our community to make it as successful as it was.

At very short notice, Dave Hart gave us a summary of his recent past experience of restrictions related to Covid19 in making sure that he & Ros were able to attend their eldest daughter, Amanda’s wedding in Geelong recently. Dave explained the circumstances leading up to the event, then for their very quick trip to get to the NSW / Victorian border by midnight the next day to ensure they were able to attend. Thank you once again Dave for your sharing your experience at such short notice, however the members were thankful of sharing your experience and the trying times that we face with the pandemic.

Richard Crandon from Donations in Kind attended our meeting to thank us for our very generous work done in Birthing kits. He also explained the importance of what the Donations in Kind do to connect broader communities with much needed equipment. On many occasions redundant equipment from Hospitals have to be disposed of and DIK find a new home for the often almost new equipment. Of importance Richard explained that there is a big focus today on finding new homes within our more local area to recycle this redundant equipment. Thank you to Richard for sharing this information and taking back our birthing kits.

Until Wednesday, take care & enjoy the start of the week.
