Hello everyone.

 

Happy Fathers day to all the fathers in GMR, whether you are a father or your father. Whilst we aren’t able to celebrate with our children & families today, I hope you and your family have been able to make the most of the day.

 

Thursday night we had an enjoyable Zoom meeting where VP Lee had a Trivia section on Rotary questions. Without a doubt the winner was Leila for answering the most amount of questions, well done Leila, and thank you to Lee for adding this section to our meetings. I also shared with the members attending our Citation for the 20/21 year which I received earlier in the week from past district Governor Andy. Andy phoned me and had intended to bring our citation down framed and present it to the club however due to Covid he is not able to travel. We were one of only 17 clubs (30% of 58 Clubs) in our district to have received this award from RI President Holger. Congratulations to our club members for being able to attain this award throughout a very challenging year, and we did it!

 

We only had a relatively small number of members attending the meeting on Thursday night with 10 members attending and as it is challenging times we hope to be back to face to face meetings soon, let’s hope. Don’t forget to keep in touch with family, friends or Rotary members during these times to make sure both ourselves & our the people we enjoy around us are also Ok.

 

Yesterday we would have had our Bunnings BBQ however had to be cancelled due to current restrictions. The Curry night is also postponed unfortunately due to the current restrictions, so like many other events we can look forward to a bigger & brighter event when the restrictions allow us.
