August has been busy with activities of fundraising, community service, guest speakers and holidays for some.
I would like to extend a Huge Thank You to Mark Thompson for stepping in over the last 2 weeks whilst I have been on holidays in the NSW Outback.
An adventure that I held much trepidation over as I thought I would be freezing.......it was cool however we had a blast out on the Mundi Mundi plains rocking with a fantastic line up of Australian Artists and about 8000 other attendees. It is was well organised with many volunteers to make it all happen.
We have all taken our own paths to become Rotary members and Mark shared his story. Rotary International is taking the next steps in advancing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) across our organisation. Embracing an experience where people feel included is more than just making our membership numbers more diverse.
It’s about making our meetings and events places where we can speak openly and honestly with each other, where our members feel welcome and safe. This means removing barriers for entry and opening doors for inclusion. Our values remain our strength — and our commitment to excellence requires us to maintain high standards for our members as well.
Why not extend an invitation to the future leaders in our community to come along to our club meeting and have the same opportunity we all have had?

September is looking action packed with 4 fundraisers on the 3rd September - Bunning BBQ and the 80's Cocktail Night and the Raffles on Friday 2nd and 30th - a great opportunity to invite your friends and family. Guest Speakers from NSW Nurse's - talking about Patient Ratio on the 31st August and our local Mayor Ian Tiley on the 21st September.
Spring is in the air to enjoy.
