I hope you had an enjoyable week and weekend.
 
This week’s meeting we received a summary overview of key outcomes from our recent Board meeting courtesy of Greg. If anyone has any issues resulting from this please contact a board director, or me for further information / discussions.
 
Following on from Greg we were privileged to have some wonderful sound & lighting in the room courtesy of our newest member Jeremy. Jeremy runs his own events, sound & lighting company Jempire Events & is very passionate about doing events in our community for youth. However He runs events from start to finish for all ages, not just youth. He also talked about events that he had been able to put on for the community that his peers said that it wouldn’t work in Grafton. Jeremey proved them wrong on a number of occasions, one of which was a regular event at the Crown Hotel and he is hoping to get it back up and running again after having to go into recess due to Covid. Than you Jeremy for a wonderful overview of you and your company and we certainly enjoy your passion for our youth in our community.
 
On Saturday, Lee, Terry, Bob, Greg & myself attended the district conference at Twin Towns function centre, Tweed Heads. Over 300 delegates were in attendance for the one day event where a number of great guest speakers addressed the attendees. I’m sure that DG Andy was very impressed with the conference and his team behind the scenes did a wonderful job to keep everything running smoothly. We met some wonderful fellow Rotarians & friends of Rotary over Friday, Saturday & Saturday night enjoying fellowship & friendship. We will do a summary of the key points from the conference in the next few weeks or so at a regular Wednesday meeting.
 
On our way, Greg took the Birthing kits with him, and I filled my cargo area with Books for Romac. Both lots of goods were dropped off at the BP Service Centre, Ballina for Richard Crandon to deal with them from there.
