JOKE CORNER

His wife had just bought a new line of expensive cosmetics absolutely guaranteed to make her looks years longer. She sat in front of the mirror for what had to be hours applying the "miracle" products. Finally, when she was done, she turned to
her husband and said, "Honey, honestly now, what age would you say I am?"

He nodded his head in assessment, and carefully said, "Well, judging from your skin, twenty. Your hair, eighteen. Your figure, twenty-five."

"Oh, you're so sweet!"

"Well, hang on, I'm not done adding it up yet..."

PRESIDENT RUMBLE

Hello everyone. I trust you have all had a good week, and the storms didn’t trouble you too much.

A big thank you to Vice Pres Lee for stepping up to run this week’s meeting at very short notice. Unfortunately at late notice I had a few issues to deal with at work preventing me arriving at our meeting for our regular start time.

I understand that Lee started the meeting with our new words “For good food, good fellowship, and the privilege to serve through Rotary we give thanks.” . We do have small cards to hand out to each member so that we can read from them initially, and I hope you were all ok with this trial run.

Grafton Rotary are keen to meet at the Brushy pub on Thursday 17th December and wanted to know our interest for sharing a bus down and back, so we will be seeking interested numbers to see if this is possible.

This Thursday coming is our next Board meeting so if you have anything that you would like discussed could you contact Greg or the relevant director to have included in the Agenda please.

Don’t forget our Dynamic DG Andy visit on Wednesday 9th December.

Lee is checking on the suitable dates for the Xmas bowls event as she thinks that an alternate date may allow extra numbers so “watch this space”.

Take care & look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday all going to plan!

Kind Regards,
President Robert

ROTARY'S FACTS
THE 4-WAY TEST

One of the most widely printed and quoted statements of business ethics in the world is the Rotary "4-Way Test." It was created by Rotarian Herbert J. Taylor in 1932 when he was asked to take charge of the Chicago based Club Aluminum Company, which was facing bankruptcy. Taylor looked for a way to save the struggling company mired in depression-caused financial difficulties. He drew up a 24-word code of ethics for all employees to follow in their business and professional lives. The 4-Way Test became the guide for sales, production, advertising and all relations with dealers and customers, and the survival of the company was credited to this simple philosophy.
Herb Taylor became president of Rotary International during 1954-55. The 4-Way Test was adopted by Rotary in 1943 and has been translated into more than 100 languages and published in thousands of ways. The message should be known and followed by all Rotarians.
"Of the things we think, say or do:
1. Is it the TRUTH?
2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?"

The mission of The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty.
