It has been a few weeks between Bulletin editions and I hope you are all well. Our weekly Zoom meetings seem to be going along very well and we welcomed Christine Lynch as a guest last week. Thank you to our President Robert Blanchard for running the meetings - creating a positive experience of fellowship for us all in these unprecedented times of the horrid Covid-19.
Last week we had good attendance and discussed some exciting projects for next year 2021 – Rotary in Australia will be 100 years old and celebrations are being planned. Our District 9460 is planning to be involved in a Centenary Baton Relay – an event to connect all Rotary Clubs across Australia and New Zealand and their communities. An exciting time of celebrations that we look forward to. Now is the time to develop and prepare for any projects for our club to get the message out there. Greg Butcher has quite a few wonderful ideas and we would love to hear about any ideas you may have. More on this very soon.
Annual District Dues will be reduced next Rotary year by $32.00 – a great saving being passed on.
Whilst we have a new Rotary year coming up from the 1st July 2020…..Our Change-over dinner has been postponed at this stage until we find out what restrictions will be lifted and perhaps a date for July may be possible……watch this space…..for the welcoming of the new committee.
The regular District Assembly will not go ahead as planned.
Restrictions are continuing to be lifted and I would just like to remind everyone that we need to remain committed to flattening the curve….
Staying committed to flattening the curve
Each step we take needs to be underpinned by a strong commitment from all of us to:
- stay 1.5 metres away from other people whenever and wherever we can
- maintain good hand washing and cough/sneeze hygiene
- stay home when we’re unwell, and get tested if we have respiratory symptoms or a fever, and
- download the COVIDSafe app so we can find the virus quickly
Our success depends on us making these behaviours part of our daily lives during the COVID-19 pandemic to keep us COVIDSafe.
Whenever you leave home, you should think about how you’re going to keep yourself, family, friends and co-workers safe. Make conscious choices about what you do and when you do it.
