Good morning GMR members & friends,

 

I hope that you have all had an enjoyable week & weekend despite the rain once again.

 

This week’s meeting we had our club assembly. Thanks to Brian we heard an overview & summary of the key outcomes from our May board meeting with directors Lee & Mark T relaying to our members key subjects from their respective areas. We will be submitting a couple of nominations to district for our club including our Australia day event along with the combined Bridge project which will be awarded at the District changeover on Sunday 26^th June at Tweed Heads.

 

At our board meeting we also discussed a position within our club that has never been formally identified as a role within our club being a “Welfare Officer”. This role I feel is important within our club to recognise the person within our club to organise matters within our club such as organising flowers & kind gestures etc to our club members when needed. The person within our club that has been at the forefront of these matters of course is Judy G which is lovely to have a person that we all know who to contact when we need something organised, or the person that suggests to the club what might be needed at times. I have also been working on the goals for our club for the year to work toward a Citation for the 21/22 year.

 

Our incoming Secretary Tony has set off on his holiday however has very kindly offered to write up our district award nominations and grant writing whilst away from the region.

 

Peter & his team have organised the book sale for the first weekend in June at the Criterion & has the roster. If you would like to assist please contact Peter for your name to be included on the Roster.

 

Our annual changeover is taking great shape for Saturday 25^th June at the GDSC auditorium. There are no actual tickets however payment of $65 per person can be transferred directly into the General account, or can be taken by Treasurer Mark via our Square on Wednesday’s.

 

Next Sunday PE Lee, Mark T, Mark B & yours truly will travel to Alstonville for the district assembly, training & development day led by incoming DG Karen Thomas. This is always a great day to learn more about the role that members have  within our club along with mingling & sharing ideas with fellow Rotarians.
