PRESIDENT'S  RUMBLE

Hi everyone,

I hope you all had a good week and enjoying the long weekend with an extra hour of daylight today.

Congratulations to David and Leila on their 50 years of marriage yesterday Saturday. To help them celebrate we shared a cake with them at our Wednesday meeting.
Even though there is no Rotary Polio movie this year we are still going to push ahead by having a movie afternoon at the Saraton on Sunday 24th October proceeded by lunch at the Clocktower, so keep the date free.  The movie is called "Respect" with Aretha Franklin.

We shared some exciting news at our meeting that we are supporting Jess Munro with the continuation of sponsorship to allow her to finish her journey of Jacaranda Queen candidate. Jess was sponsored by Caringa from the start, however due to circumstances aren't continuing the sponsorship. Jess will come along this Wednesday for our meeting so that she can meet our members and members can meet her. Jess is Lee Taylor's daughter.
Peter Lynch is starting our combined bridge project early this week and he will let me know how many able helpers maybe required to assist him.

We have also submitted a grant from the Rotary Club of Balwyn for a possible youth event in January 2022. A huge thank you to Herman, Tony and Jeremy for their concerted efforts in pulling together this grant in a short period of time.

Until Wednesday, stay safe & we'll.

Kind Regards,
Centenary President,
Robert

Defibrillator roll out continues
After some 12 months of negotiations we have finally got the defibrillator at the BP service station on Big River Way, South Grafton. The unit is the third to be installed with joint funding from the South Grafton Bendigo Community Bank and Midday Rotary.
Thanks to Peter, Ryan, and Jarrad Lynch for the installation of the unit to BP’s stringent requirements.

Defibrillator which has been installed at the Brewhouse complex which was funded by the Brewhouse with the help of Grafton Midday Rotary.

HUMOUR FOR THE WEEK
The situation is getting worse. This morning a flying saucer landed at a local petrol station The two space aliens inside seemed completely unconcerned about detection; in fact, the letters "UFO" emblazoned in big, bold letters on one side of their shiny craft:

As the station owner stood and gawked in silence, paralysed with shock, his young attendant nonchalantly filled up the tank and waved to the two aliens as they took off.
"Do ye realise what just happened?" The station owner finally uttered.
"Yeah." Said attendant. "So?"
"Didn't ye see the space aliens in that vehicle?"
"Yeah." Repeated the attendant. "So?"

"Didn't ye see e letters 'UFO' on the side oh at the vehicle?"
"Yeah." Repeated the attendant. "So?"
"Don't ye know what 'UFO' means?"

The attendant rolled his eyes. "Good grief! I've been working here for six years. Of course, I know what 'UFO' means
'Unleaded Fuel Only.'"
