Hello dear GMR members & friends,

 

Happy Mothers Day to all our mothers! I hope that you all have a lovely day celebrating with your families to reflect on the wonderful jobs that you all do as mothers. For those of us who no longer are able to celebrate with our dear mothers, it is a nice time to reflect on the wonderful times that our dear mum’s did for all their families, and treasure many fond memories of them.

 

 

Wow, last night we had a fantastic night at the Crown Hotel for our wine tasting & dinner. We had 70 guests in attendance & experienced great food & wine throughout the evening. A huge thank you to Charlie, Sylvia & their fantastic staff who looked after the group during the evening& the lovely decorations on the deck. A massive thank you to chief chef Damian (Sylvia’s husband) who prepared a very sumptuous 3 course meal, and Laysge who continued to make sure that wines kept flowing to our attendees. It was with regret that the Wine rep wasn’t in attendance due to having Covid. The night raised a massive $4,250 for District 9640 flood appeal, what an amazing result! Thank you to all the GMR team who assisted in the night to make it such an enjoyable night for us all. Our resident auctioneer Jake did a great job in auctioning some great items resulting in very nice results for the night by extracting funds from the bidders, thanks Jake!

  

 

At last Wednesday’s meeting our 32^nd Annual report was tabled to the members. Whilst taking some time to prepare & present this report due to unforeseen circumstances, the members can now read through the report & reflect on our achievements throughout the 20/21 year. The report was emailed to each member through the week & please if you would like any further explanations on any matter contact myself or the relevant director.

 

Wednesday morning Peter & Don attended the UHA Mothers day morning tea on behalf of our club & did a wonderful job pouring Tea & Coffees for the attendees. Thank you Peter & Don.

 

Next week’s meeting the kitchen is closed at the Crown due to renovations, however Judy G has organised freshly made sandwiches for our attendees to enjoy.
