 Hi everyone,

I hope you all enjoyed your week even though there was  a lot of rain around.

At this week’s meeting we heard from our guest speaker Estelle Graham. Estelle volunteers for an organisation OPEnE (Organization of People for Engagement and Enterprise), and her role withy this organisation is the “Donor Relations and Strategic Networking Senior Mentor”. Estelle gave us a very informative session about schooling in Sri Lanka and the lack of resources for children to learn English in certain parts of the country. Their organisation has taken on the project to give valuable resources to children in schools to learn English. The cost per school for the resources is $9,350 per school. Estelle asked our club to look into the possible sponsorship of a school for these resources however under no obligation. Members & the board will be able to analyse this worthy overseas project to determine if we are able to assist or not. Thank you Estelle.

Leila gave the meeting a summary of the Birthing Kits & Spectacles workshop last Saturday. Thank you to David & Leila for opening your home up to our club for this workshop and to Peter for talking the kits to Ballina throughout the week.

I understand that the High Tea event for our Jaca candidate Jess Munro at Vines on Saturday was extremely enjoyable where the attendees enjoyed sensational food throughout the afternoon along with a fashion parade supplied by local fashion houses & showcases some of our own members! The afternoon raised around $3,000 for Jess which will go toward the Jacaranda Festival. A huge thank you to Chris Lynch & Judy Glasson for organising such a wonderful & well run event. I understand all the attendees had a wonderful afternoon.

Our AGM will be at our regular Wednesday meeting on December 15th so if you would like to be part of the 22/23 dynamic board let Lee or me know.

Our club is being represented at the NSW Nth Coast Par 3 Golf event at the South Grafton Golf club being held today Sunday. The team is headed up by Don Cardow, and I hope they have a fun filled day.

Next week we have Zac Masters from the New School of Arts talking about “Changing Lanes” so come along and listen to Zac.

Until Wednesday, stay safe & take care.

Centenary President,

Robert
