When Mid-Western Regional Council upgraded the Town Hall library and theatre, a digital cinema facility was installed in the theatre.  Rotary was asked by Council to run the cinema as a community service project.   The Town Hall Cinema became a collaborative venture for the Rotary Clubs of Mudgee and Mudgee Sunrise.

Our volunteers provide a candy bar with popcorn, drinks and ice-creams to make this a true cinema experience.  We also automatically set up movie projection and provide ushering, ticket collection and weekend selling and cleaning between sessions.

The cinema committee chooses the latest box office movies and Council pre-sells the tickets.

Town Hall Cinema operates one weekend per month, generally the first weekend.  Sessions are
  • Friday - 7.00  pm (adult movie)
  • Saturday - 11.00 am and 2.00 pm (children's movie) and 4.30 pm and 7.00 pm (adult movie)
  • Sunday - 11.00 am and 2.00 pm (children's movie) and 4.30 pm (adult movie).
From time to time, special screenings are held as fundraisers for specific projects.

Profits from Rotary's share of the Town Hall Cinema are used to fund local and international Rotary projects.
