Hi Napier Rotary Presidents
I wonder if you could advise your members of the opportunity to visit Camp Kaitawa during the weekend of Friday 14th through to Sunday 16th September.
Trust members will be there doing a spring clean, ready for the influx of summer visitors.
Adding this notice to your Club’s newsletter/bulletin would be appreciated.
It would be a good chance for Rotary members to see the facilities and experience some of the outdoors in the area.
There is room for many to stay over during the weekend.
Please touch base with Camp Kaitawa Trust Chairman if you or your members are available to visit.
Graeme Muir M 0272968457 H  06 8442696.
Email address above.
He will then advise in due course about accommodation, meals and what you will need to bring.
Camp Kaitawa has sleeping facilities for 72.
Dining facilities for everyone.
Places nearby to visit include the lakes, the power stations, the caves, the lookouts, the tracks and native bird and trees.
This is a rare opportunity to see a magnificent facility for out door education in the Hawkes Bay.
If you need more information, contact Graeme or myself.
Many thanks Ross

Apologies
Don’t forget to text apologies to Katherine, 027 8296308…  or enter your apologies on line via the ‘events’ page of our website.

3 Minute Speaker – Ann Clarke.  Ann has, during her time in office, visited the Clubs early in the Rotary Year.  She offered thanks to Katherine for this speaking slot. Ann commented that Katherine now has the reigns (of the Club) and Lynne would follow. Graham Jull, our current District Governor,  will attend our Club in October (Wednesday 10th– scribe).
Rotary International Citation is a good way to settle goals within a Cub; Support and Strengthen Clubs; Focus and Increase Humanitarian Service; Enhance Public Image and Awareness. With the mantra being ’Be The Inspiration’ this year, vibrant/fun/fellowship is a great modal for any Club.

Raffle – There wasn’t one!

Sergeant – Frostie
Having spent the last couple of weeks (since his operation in effect) reading newspapers, Frostie fined Members according to things he had read about in the press; Councillors, paternity leave, racing meetings, dairy industry pay-out, BnB taxes, guns, drones, fitness and lawyers.

Resignations …
After his Sergeant Session, Frostie announced it would be his last meeting.
Ian Holyoake also stated he must move on.
David Hills had attended his last meeting last night.

Guest speaker …
Simon Northrop  introduced Simon Thacker from Firenzo Woodfires.
Simon Thacker has been with Firenzo Woodfires for about 10 year. Early on in his employment he learnt that owner Peter Hewitson does not, and will not, make cheap fires.  In fact, Peter had an ambition to have the best fires in NZ. Firenzo continues to increase productivity, and increase models of wood fires and continue to chase his dream of having the best!
Firenzo has 20 staff, 100 dealers across the country and currently, 18 models.
It would seem that several of the Members have Firenzo products in their homes.

The talk was followed with questions and comments from Members and a vote of thanks, and presentation of our Rotary Pathway Coin and thank you card, was presented by Paul.

An invitation was extended by  Peter and Simon for the Club to visit Firenzo.  This will take place  a follows …
Firenzo Woodfires, 98 Niven Street, Onekawa.  843 8260
THURSDAY 20 September
4:00pm

In closing …
Frostie read the next week’s duties and thanked all the guests.

Parting thought… Tony
The pain of parting is nothing to the joy of meeting again.
